Steps 1 & 3 – PREVENT!® is the best way to kill crabgrass and green up spring lawns. Grass Pad’s spring fertilizer contains professional strength crabgrass pre-emergent. Prevent!® is formulated especially for the mid-west lawns for maximum protection against annual grassy weeds and to promote healthy grass.

Prevent!® is available in 5,000 sq/ft, 10,000 sq/ft, or 15,000 sq/ft bags to help you get full coverage.
When to Apply
Apply first Spring coverage of Prevent Mid-March to Mid-April and repeat 8-10 weeks later.
How to Apply
Apply with a broadcast or rotary spreader. Apply 1/2″ of water immediately after application.
How Often
Season long Crabgrass control and prevention requires two applications 8-10 weeks apart.

Be Aware: Do Not Overseed areas after using Prevent!®. The pre-emergent herbicide will remain active in the soil 8-10 weeks, preventing grass seeds & crabgrass seeds from germinating. Do Not Apply Prevent!® over areas where grass seed has been dormant seeded and has not germinated.
